This bold new initiative, celebrating 40 years of The Australian Ballet and Telstra's partnership, will give all Australians the opportunity to experience world-class ballet for just $40*.
Thanks to generous support from Telstra, we are making the magic of ballet more accessible to all by offering 10 great seats^ in every performance for just $40* each.
2024 ballots include Oscar©, Études / Circle Electric and The Nutcracker. 2025 ballots will be announced at a later date.
*Maximum ticket price includes fee payable per transaction; T&C's apply. ^A or B reserve seating where possible.
The ballot for each season opens four weeks prior to opening night. You can register your interest before the ballot opens to be notified when it starts.
Once the ballot opens, enter for your chance to purchase up to two $40 tickets to the performance of your choice.
The ballot for each ballet is open for two weeks. Once it has closed, winners will be drawn for each performance.
If you are successful you will be notified that you have 2 business days to purchase your $40 tickets. If you don’t claim your tickets within 2 business days, they will be offered to other ballot entrants.
Complete the form for the ballet and performances you’re interested in. You can select as many as you like, but you will only be eligible to win once per annual season. There are 10 ballot tickets available for every performance.
When you submit the form, you will have entered the ballot to secure up to two tickets for $40 each.
If you’re a Telstra customer, make sure to include your Telstra customer number in the form.
Two weeks out from opening night, the ballot closes, and winners are drawn for each performance.
If you are successful, you will receive an email with instructions to call or visit in person to claim your $40 tickets within two business days.
If you don’t claim your tickets within two business days, they will be offered to other ballot entrants.
Collect your tickets from the venue and enjoy the performance, thanks to Telstra!
As a special reward, Telstra Plus members will receive a gift if successful in the ballot.

Be notifiedIf your entry is successful, an email will be sent to you with your allocated performance date and time as well as instructions on how to complete your purchase.
Upon notification of successful entry, you will have 2 Victorian business days to complete your purchase. After the time window expires, a new winner will be drawn.
Please note that ballot tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for another performance.
You can enter the ballot for every ballet however you can only be successful once per calendar year.
If you have selected multiple performances as part of your entry, please note we will only allocate you into the performance date for which you are successfully drawn.
If you have preferred performance date and time, it is not recommended that you select multiple performances.

We hope this subsidised ticketing program will reduce financial barriers and encourage everyone to enjoy the art form.
No, whilst Telstra is generously supporting this program, it is open to anyone. You will be asked to for a Telstra Plus ID if you have one and wish to provide it, but this will not have an impact on your likelihood of winning the draw. By providing this ID you'll also receive a gift courtesy of Telstra.
