The Australian Ballet returns to the United States with Christopher Wheeldon’s Oscar©
25 — 27 September 2026
8 — 11 October 2026
This tour marks a significant moment for The Australian Ballet, bringing a major new work to the United States and showcasing the company’s world-class dancers on international stages. It offers Australian artists the opportunity to connect with global audiences, perform internationally, and share a work that is central to the company’s artistic identity.
Created by Tony Award-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, Oscar© is a bold full-length ballet inspired by the life and writings of Oscar Wilde. Drawing on works including The Nightingale and the Rose and The Picture of Dorian Gray, the production blends biography and imagination to capture Wilde’s brilliance and vulnerability through Wheeldon’s signature cinematic storytelling.
Oscar© has been generously funded by Lady Potter AC CMRI and The David Hallberg Fund for Artistic Aspiration, and The Robert and Elizabeth Albert Music Fund.
This tour has been assisted by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body.
We also extend our sincere thanks to the contributors to the International Touring Fund and our US Tour supporters, whose generosity has made this landmark tour possible.
