We are looking for a dynamic and commercially-savvy Marketing professional to deliver key campaigns for The Australian Ballet’s mainstage shows and programs.   You will work within the broader marketing and commercial division, with specialists across marketing, creative, digital, customer experience, content and broadcast.  

You are a creative thinker who can deliver effective marketing solutions that support the company’s goals of building new audiences, elevating the brand and delivering world-class entertainment experiences.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, you will implement strategies that promote member loyalty and retention as well as driving end to end campaigns, venue marketing and partnership initiatives to achieve sales targets. This is a full-service, 360 campaign role across digital, print, outdoor and The Australian Ballet’s marketing channels.

As an integral member of the marketing team, you will be responsible for sales performance and contribute to the wider marketing, customer and publicity strategy to leverage The Australian Ballet brand. 

Desired Skills and Experience

The right candidate will ideally come from an agency or product marketing background and have strong commercial / campaign skills (3 years minimum), a hands-on approach, ‘can do’ attitude and have an acute attention-to-detail to deliver multiple campaigns to deadline and to budget. Outstanding relationship skills, a collaborative spirit and ambition to learn in a dynamic environment are essential. Ability to speak Mandarin is desirable but not required.

Work experience

Administration 

The Australian Ballet offers five work experience placements in administration to Year 10 school students each year. Students get the opportunity to assist a range of departments at the head office in Melbourne, including company management, customer services, wardrobe, and marketing, as well as observing dancers in rehearsals and class. Due to the popularity of the program, places fill very quickly. The 2019 program is fully booked. Bookings for the 2020 work experience program will open in March 2019.

Wardrobe - Production

The Australian Ballet’s wardrobe department caters for secondary and tertiary work-experience placements. There are five one-week placements available per year for Year 10 students. Students should apply during the third term of the year prior to their requested placement. You need to be able to use a domestic sewing machine and be proficient in hand-sewing. Final-year students are given preference, but placements for other year levels can also be arranged, depending on availability. Tertiary students should apply to The Australian Ballet, outlining their course requirements, relevant experience, and why they wish to undertake a placement at The Australian Ballet.
