A new creative journey is beginning

In 2023, The Australian Ballet will present a dynamic new version of the timeless classic, Swan Lake – Directed and Realised by Artistic Director David Hallberg.

A reimagining of one the greatest works of all time and based on Anne Woolliams' iconic classical production, this special 60th anniversary ballet will be tailor-made for a bold new era of the company by a world-leading team of creatives and artists.

By fusing the beauty of this iconic ballet with crisp, realistic designs, David’s artistic endeavour will showcase the relevance and timelessness of the work to create a Swan Lake that will be a part of our repertoire for decades to come.

Swan Lake Through the Ages2
"The Australian Ballet has many a wonderful iteration of Swan Lake in its canon. I see an opportunity for a reenergised classical version of the work in our repertoire … One that will stand proud as a choreographically modern representation of The Australian Ballet."
