Studios Policies

Studios Terms and Conditions

Tickets for Studios classes are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled. All purchases are final and tickets are non-transferrable outside of our Studios Class Exchange Policy. Exchanges for Studios classes are permitted within the same series as the original purchase, subject to availability and in line with our Studios Class Exchange Policy. Purchase and participation of classes will be considered acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, and any ongoing updates to these Terms and Conditions.

Every possible effort is made to deliver classes as advertised however the schedule is subject to change or cancellation without notice.

Participants must be aged 18 and above to attend these classes.

As there are no payment facilities available on-site, all bookings must be completed online via The Australian Ballet website or over the phone with our Customer Experience team prior to participating in the class.

For security purposes and in case of an emergency, the names of individual event participants will be required for all classes. You may also be asked to provide additional details either at the time of booking or upon attending classes including the participant’s address, date of birth and an emergency contact. The Australian Ballet reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of a participant’s registration, to refuse entry and to reject or disqualify a participant from participating in any classes.

In participating in Studios classes conducted by The Australian Ballet you agree that neither you, your heirs, assigns or legal representatives will sue or make any other claims of any kind whatsoever against The Australian Ballet for any personal injury, property damage/loss, or wrongful death, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

Personal Conduct and Medical Conditions

The Australian Ballet reserves the right to refuse entry, to reject or disqualify a participant from participating in any classes or ask anyone to leave the premises at any time if their behaviour compromises the safety or comfort of others. Our aim is to maintain a welcoming and non-competitive environment for all. Disruptive or unsociable behaviour is not tolerated.

Only participants with a valid booking are permitted to enter the studios. Family and friends are not permitted to sit in and observe class.

For the comfort and privacy of other participants and our teachers, we strictly do not permit filming or photography during class at any time.

Classes can be physically strenuous, and participation is voluntary, based on a participant’s own assessment of their fitness, health and understanding of the class requirements. It is the responsibility of the participant to follow instructions given by class teachers to maintain personal safety.

We require a letter from a doctor to allow participation in a class if the participant is pregnant, has a history of heart condition or strokes, has a serious cardiovascular condition including hypertension, hypotension and heart failure or is currently using diuretics, barbiturates or beta-blockers.

Late Arrival

For participant safety we cannot permit late admission to class more than 15 minutes after the class has started. Sign-in for our classes is strictly open from 6:00-7:00pm, there is absolutely no late admittance beyond this window or 15 minutes after a class has started - whichever comes first.

Late admission into a class is not guaranteed and may be treated as a forfeiting of participation in the event. The Australian Ballet takes no responsibility for causes of delays or lateness beyond the control of the company - tickets for Studios classes missed due to late arrival will not be exchanged or refunded.

Cancelled Classes

In the event a class needs to be cancelled, we will make reasonable attempt to contact all ticketholders for that class prior to the start time where possible. All bookings for cancelled classes will be refunded.

Studios Class Exchange Policy

Studios exchange policy

Ticket exchanges can be made for Studios classes (“classes”) held at the Primrose Potter Australian Ballet Centre. Exchanges can be made for casual classes or classes purchased in a package booking for a series. Exchanges for Studios tickets can only be processed directly via The Australian Ballet.

All exchanges are subject to availability.

Exchanges for classes can only be made within the same six-week series (“series”) and must be finalised prior to the class commencing. For example, a class in Series 1 cannot be exchanged for a class in Series 2. No exchanges will be offered for missed classes or once the class has passed.

Customers with a valid series package booking in the are entitled to free exchanges for any classes booked within that same series. Please note that there may be additional costs involved when exchanging to classes with a higher value, upgrade costs may apply for changes of price type or class level.

A $7 exchange service fee applies to casual class exchanges if you have not made a package booking within that series.

If exchanging to classes with a higher value, upgrade fees may apply for changes of price type or class level. Please note that credit and refunds are not available if you choose to exchange to a ticket with a lesser value or special offer.

If you are exchanging class tickets that you did not originally purchase, you may be required to contact the original ticket holder to connect your accounts or to exchange the ticket on your behalf. For more information, please contact our customer experience team.

Exchanges are only available once the series has commenced and must be completed via The Australian Ballet by 10am the business day of the class. We are unable to process any requests submitted after this time.

Once an exchange has been finalised, your original class tickets will no longer be valid and should be deleted or destroyed. New e-tickets will be sent via email. If an invalid class ticket is presented prior to class, entry may be denied and you will be directed to either purchase a new class via our website subject to availability or leave the premises and speak to our Customer Experience team during open hours.
