"The production offers a gold-class experience and the magical escape that will forever draw so many audiences to the fairytale world of ballet.”
- Herald Sun

"...the entire house rose to its feet on opening night to applaud David McAllister’s The Sleeping Beauty, a gorgeous new production."
- Arts Hub

Ten years since its spectacular premiere, David McAllister’s opulent production, The Sleeping Beauty, returns to whisk you away into a magical realm of fairies and spells, good versus evil and a royal romance.

Accompanied by Tchaikovsky’s enchanting score, The Sleeping Beauty is a dreamlike vision, evoking ballet’s golden era with traditional choreography and extravagant designs. The gilded set stands alongside over 300 bespoke costumes, wigs and fairy wings, designed by the award-winning Gabriela Tylesova. Be transported to the splendour of fairyland’s royal court with David McAllister’s classical masterpiece, The Sleeping Beauty.

David Hallberg's insight

"Tchaikovsky and Petipa created some of the most significant works in classical ballet. We are thrilled to give audiences ballets of this magnitude that celebrate its tradition and grandeur. A ballet like The Sleeping Beauty deserves a production as lavish and colourful as David McAllister’s."
