Natasha Bowness
Natasha Bowness is a devoted and passionate supporter of The Australian Ballet and, together with her family, has had a relationship with the company for nearly 40 years.
Natasha believes strongly in the value of the arts and the role of philanthropy to provide people and organisations with the support and opportunity to fulfil their potential.
Testament to her long association with philanthropy, Natasha is Chair of the Bowness Family Foundation and an active participant in building a philanthropic culture in Australia through several leadership roles. She is a member of The Australian Ballet Foundation Board and a Les Etoiles patron. Natasha has also been directly involved in major gala fundraising initiatives with The Australian Ballet including L’Evenement, Behind the Curtain and Mao’s Last Dancer.
The Bowness Family Foundation Fund for Artist Development was established in 2021 to assist with the artistic development and enhancement of The Australian Ballet. The fund will enable David Hallberg to curate a program of inspirational and instructive classes and rehearsals delivered by engaging international and homegrown world class coaches and teachers, allowing the dancers to realise even greater technical and artistic horizons.
Natasha has a strong interest in Arts and Culture and is a member of the Council of National Museum of Australia, Chair of the Monash Gallery of Art Committee of Management and was recently appointed as a Director of Creative Partnerships Australia. Natasha is a member of the Monash University Philanthropic Campaign Council and a member of the University of Queensland Young Achievers Program Advisory Committee. She is also a former board member of Zoos Victoria and a current member of the Zoos Victoria Foundation Board.
The Bowness Family Foundation principally supports areas of Arts and Culture, Education and Disability, including a range of large and small visual and performing arts organisations reflecting the breadth of Australia’s creative sector.
Natasha is Chair of Wilbow Group, a private family investment group operating in Australia and the United States, whose activities include property development, structured financing, private equity and listed and unlisted investments. She is a Monash University Fellow, Chartered Accountant and was formerly with PricewaterhouseCoopers for a number of years in Australia and London.
"Philanthropy plays a vital role in enabling The Australian Ballet to achieve its ambitions. I look forward to meeting you and sharing our passion for this wonderful company." Natasha Bowness, President of Annual Giving
