Maxim Zenin

Maxim was born in Volgograd, Russia, and started dancing at the age of 10 at the Vaganova Ballet Academy. After graduating, he accepted an invitation to join the Mariinsky Theatre, where he danced in the troupe for five years. Here he acquired a diverse repertoire including the lead role in the ballet Carmen, and roles in contemporary productions by Hans van Manen, Angelin Preljocaj and Wayne McGregor. Maxim officially joined The Australian Ballet in 2022, an opportunity he believes will allow him to grow as an artist and gain invaluable experience in both classical and contemporary works. Maxim was promoted to soloist in 2023 and Senior Artist in 2025.
