Laura Griffiths
Growing up in the Macedon Ranges, Victoria, Laura started jazz dancing at age four before beginning ballet the following year. She undertook full-time studies at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School following the Cecchetti syllabus. At sixteen years old Laura was accepted into the English National Ballet School, where she completed her ballet training.
Some of Laura’s highlights from the English National Ballet School and in London include performing at Sadlers Well’s Theatre, The Roundhouse in Camden and at The Wallace Collection museum for a creative collaboration with The Royal College of Music and London College of Fashion.
Laura joined The Australian Ballet in August 2023 and is grateful to be a part of a supportive company which is pushing boundaries within ballet as an artform. Always looking for new challenges, she is inspired by the athleticism of William Forsythe's works and loves the classics, such as Giselle and The Sleeping Beauty which pay homage to the foundations of classical ballet while exploring storytelling in various lights.
