Spring Parks Primary School
"... it gave them an opportunity to express themselves through another medium." Julie Fisher, Principal

In early 2017, The Australian Ballet Education team worked for one day per week over six weeks at Spring Parks Primary school in Melbourne. The principal of the school, Julie Fisher, told us her thoughts about the experience below.
Individual and social benefits
Julie said that for some of her students, it gave them an opportunity to express themselves through another medium. "I witnessed some children become more animated and engaged in the workshops than I had seen them in the classroom," she said.
Julie also noticed that students learnt new vocabulary and improved their oral language.
Curricular content
STEAM was incorporated into writing sessions, classroom discussions and vocabulary-building lessons.
