Callum Linnane

Callum Linnane grew up in Ballarat, Victoria. At the age of seven he began training in all styles of dance at the Ballarat Centre of Music and the Arts; he started ballet classes with Lauren Young at the age of eleven. Callum was accepted into The Australian Ballet School in 2008 and graduated dux with honours. He joined The Australian Ballet in 2015; he was promoted to coryphée in 2017, to soloist in 2018, to senior artist in 2021, and to principal artist in 2022.
In April 2026 it was announced that Callum will depart The Australian Ballet, after more than a decade with the Company, to take the next step in his career on the international stage. He will join Hamburg Ballet as a principal artist from the 2026/2027 season, marking an exciting new chapter in his career.
Australian audiences will have the chance to watch Callum’s final performances on home soil in our upcoming Sydney and Melbourne seasons of John Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet.
