The rich tradition of philanthropy at The Australian Ballet began just a few weeks after the company was founded in September 1962.
Since then our special community of philanthropic supporters has made many of the key moments in the life of The Australian Ballet possible and ensured we can continue to inspire, delight, and challenge audiences through the power of our performances.
In an average year, 60% of our revenue is generated by ticket sales. Unfortunately, due to the extraordinary events of last year, our box-office income fell by $32m when approximately 95% of our scheduled performances were cancelled and we were unable to sell the ticket numbers we ordinarily would.
We invite you to be part of our community who are enabling the company to raise the bar even higher and ensuring future generations will continue to enjoy our beloved art form and company.
Every gift we receive makes a meaningful difference to the standard we present on and off the stage, as an organisation and as a national cultural leader. And individuals who give to the company are welcomed into our Ballet community and invited to get to know the dancers and teams behind the curtains who create the magic you see on stage.
