Community and Holiday Program Residencies
The program
Our program for the community is a unique dance education residency integrating science, technology, engineering, arts and maths within a ballet workshop and performance experience. It can happen after school or during the holidays, and with primary or secondary students.
Over the course of the week students will learn practical dance and choreographic skills around the theme of the chosen performance. The students will work with our educators to create their own dance in class to perform on the last day of the program. To conclude this performance, students will then watch the professional dancers from The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach team perform.
The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach is committed to increasing access to ballet for those that may not have access otherwise. Through the generosity of the donors and sponsors of The Australian Ballet, we offer a number of community projects each year.

Program Objectives
- Provide a fun, safe and collaborative learning environment for students
- Provide students with an unforgettable dance experience
- Complement key Australian Curriculum objectives, and cross curriculum priorities such as First Nations perspectives and sustainability
- Increase skills through practical dance exercises that encourage individual and cooperative learning

- Increase knowledge of dance arts careers, while also providing an opportunity for the students to interact with our dancers
