The lower legs are a common site of dance injuries. In this workshop, with The Australian Ballet’s Body Conditioning Specialist Paula Baird-Colt and Physiotherapist Sophie Emery, you’ll learn about The Australian Ballet’s lower-leg conditioning exercises, which are designed to support alignment, strength and endurance. Paula will explain the relationship between these exercises and the dance skills they foster.
for dance teachers, dancers age 16 and over with classical ballet training, and allied health professionals working with dancers.
Participants who do not fit these requirements will be unable to attend. The name, gender and date of birth of each participant is required at the time of booking.

- So we can commence on time please arrive at Stage Door at least 10 minutes prior to the start time
- No cameras permitted
- Please complete relevant information on the Participant Information Form and bring it along with your ticket
Participants can observe and also try some of the demonstrated techniques. If you wish to try some of the techniques:
- Wear comfortable dance attire and ensure if wearing ballet tights that they allow the feet to be bare as well as covered
- Bring shoes that you would normally wear in your ballet class
