2020 Digital Season | 14 May 2020

In October 2012, Ella Havelka became the first Aboriginal dancer to be accepted into The Australian Ballet - an announcement that made headlines nationwide. A graduate of The Australian Ballet School, she spent years as with Bangarra Dance Theatre before being offered a position in the corps de ballet.

Ella performed in the world premiere of Warumuk - in the dark night, a collaboration between Bangarra Dance Theatre and The Australian Ballet in celebration of The Australian Ballet's 50th anniversary.
