HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Orchestra Victoria’s Mock Audition Program is a new interactive initiative designed to give emerging professional orchestral musicians an opportunity to prepare opera and ballet audition excerpts and receive feedback from the musicians of Orchestra Victoria. It is accessible online and provided at no cost to participants.
Orchestra Victoria is committed to connecting with our future colleagues, sharing our opera and ballet repertoire expertise, and encouraging aspiring players to seek opportunities to practice their audition technique. This online program provides emerging professional musicians a unique opportunity to engage with the orchestra in a personal, connected and highly accessible format.
All participants must be:
Australian or New Zealand citizens or hold a visa that allows you to study and/or work in Australia.
Aged 18 years or older by Friday 28 August 2020.
Expand the segment for your instrument below to find the application pack(s) for your instrument. These packs contain instructions, and link to the application form, and the excerpts you need to prepare and record.
For some instruments, this more than one application pack available, and these contain different excerpts (eg. for Horn players, there are a separate books for high and low horn, and for some instruments there are both Principal and Tutti/Axillary Instrument books). You may prepare either or both sets of excerpts, however, in the event you are preparing multiple submissions, you will need to complete a separate application in order to receive a separate feedback session on each book.
Friday 28 August 2020 – recordings must be submitted by 6pm.
