Orchestra Victoria was established in 1969 as The Elizabethan Trust Orchestra. Orchestra Victoria seeks musicians of outstanding ability for the following positions:

Associate Principal Trombone

Associate Principal Trombone is a full-time position with Orchestra Victoria. The salary for this position as a Level A Principal Musician starts at $82,337 per annum plus superannuation and allowances. Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia.

Interested musicians shall apply for the position as follows:

Application for audition

  • Complete the attached Application for Audition Form and submit along with CV
  • Auditions will be held on Monday 29 August and Tuesday 30 August 2022 in Melbourne
  • Applicants unable to attend the live audition may submit a recorded audition.

At the completion of the audition, the panel will determine if any candidates are suitable to be appointed to trial. Any preferred candidate will be offered the position as a three-year contract in accordance with the OV-EA 2018-2021, which will be subject to a trial period of six months.

Associate Principal Flute

Associate Principal Flute is a full-time position with Orchestra Victoria. The salary for this position as a Level A Principal Musician starts at $82,337 per annum plus superannuation and allowances. Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia.

Interested musicians shall apply for the position as follows:

Application for audition

  • Complete the attached Application for Audition form and Recording Declaration Form, and submit a recording of round one solo works
  • Successful applicants will then be invited to the live audition rounds held on Saturday 17 September in Melbourne
  • Applicants unable to attend the live auditions may submit a second recorded audition

At the completion of the live auditions, the panel will determine if any candidates are suitable to be appointed to trial. Any preferred candidate will be offered the position as a three-year contract in accordance with the OV-EA 2018-2021, which will be subject to a trial period of six months.
