Prada’s tribute to Josephine Baker

How does long-playing label Prada keep coming up with the fresh? We’re loving their spring/summer collection: all breezy maritime stripes, sunglasses that could have been designed by Horta, furs that look like the tails of giant neon squirrels. It’s no surprise to hear the collection was inspired by Josephine Baker, whose irreverent sass and bubble-up joie de vivre continues to capture the imagination just as it did in her own day, when she caused a sensation with her ‘dance sauvage‘. Congratulations, Josephine: there’s still no one that shakes booty like you.

Oh, and if you’re wondering why, in a collection inspired by the fabulous Baker girl, Prada has no bananas?… Look carefully.
