NUTCRACKER ICE CREAMS

Posted on 18 September 2019 By Rose Mulready

Our Melbourne season of The Nutcracker just got more delicious. Artisan gelato house Piccolina Gelateria has made three luscious flavours inspired by the ballet – and they have our Flowers dancing for joy.

If you're in Melbourne, you're in sweet, sweet luck. Piccolina will be serving up all three treats at their Collingwood store for free from 6.30pm on Friday 13 September (until sold out). You can also enjoy the flavours (at the Collingwood store only) during our Melbourne season of The Nutcracker, which runs from 17 - 28 September. And at every one of our Nutcracker shows at Arts Centre Melbourne, there will be specially created Piccolina choc tops available.

Hurry in, sugar plums! And read on for more details about the flavours.

THE SUGAR PLUM FAIRY

The Sugar Plum Fairy is a rich crema gelato with plum and raspberry coulis. It's decorated with pink pearl candy, fairy floss and a silver leaf crown. We think you can pretty much hear celeste music as you eat this one.

CLARA AND THE NUTCRACKER

Referencing the festive treats and toys soldiers of the Christmas party in the ballet's first act, Clara and the Nutcracker is a mélange of apple gelato with spiced apple compote, topped with Chantilly cream and gingerbread soldiers.

THE LAND OF SWEETS

If you've ever dreamed of accompanying Clara to the enticing Land of Sweets, try this taste adventure: white chocolate gelato with strawberry boba, topped with torched meringue and white-chocolate-covered freeze-dried strawberries.
