Colin Peasley has been a unique and special part of The Australian Ballet since its first day. He is a founding member of the company and has been its ballet master, one of its principal artists, and the driving force of its Education program.
In 2012, Colin retired from The Australian Ballet after 50 years with the company, but he continues to be a vital part of our family. He’s an honorary life member of The Australian Ballet and an invaluable presence on stage in character roles, passing on his artistry and stagecraft to younger generations of dancers.
On the 15th of October, Colin celebrates his 80th birthday – on tour with the company on the West Coast of USA, where he’s performing the Lord Admiral in Graeme Murphy’s Swan Lake.
We’d like to wish Colin the happiest of birthdays, and many more bright moments on stage with us!
