Karen Schofield

Meet Karen

Born in a small town in New South Wales, Karen Schofield saw a flute player on television when she was eleven and that was that. She went on to study at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School; she then got her Bachelor degree with honours from Victorian College of the Arts, and her Masters and PhD from the University of Melbourne. She has performed with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. She has been the recipient of multiple awards and scholarships, including the ABC Young Artist Award, the MSO Concerto Award, the Victorian College of the Arts Outstanding Performer Award and an Ian Potter Foundation Scholarship, and has performed across North America, the United Kingdom, Europe and China.
